  OUR HORSES

At our farm, we are trying to breed our horses in an as much natural environment as possible. We are using dozens of hectares of pasturelands, mainly in a hilly terrain around Sedlec Prcice, with enough spaces in leeward and shadow. Our horses are almost the whole year outside 24 hours, 7 days a week (except of cold and humid winter days). The have an unlimited access to a high quality hay and additionally we feed them three times per day according to a nutrition schedule of Zemedelske sluzby Bestovice. The foals are since birth with their mares in the batch. The fillies stay in the same batch and the colts are separated after the first year of their life to a batch of young stallions.
The veterinary checks are realized three times daily during the feeding time. An experienced last maker is doing the correction of hoofs and cares especially about the evenness of all the hoofs. All our bred horses are without horseshoes and if it will be possible, we will not shoe also the sporting horses. The Akhal Teke horses have very resistive hoofs and we are supporting it through high quality nutrition. We are regularly de- worm our horses, at least three times per year.
Shall you buy a horse from our farm, you can be sure that it received the maximum of care and nourishment which will show up in his further life and sport, eventually. Our horses are like our children, we love them above all.

Our most valuable Akhal-Teke purebred stallions include:
- sire Seiran 10 (imported from Russia in 1996)
- sire 1127 Almaz (

Our Association is in possession of frozen sperm of the unique stallion Lakmus, imported to the Czech Republic in 1992, versatile sports horse (Seoul Olympics 1988/ dressage), the grandson of the legendary Absent.

Among the horses with foreign blood addition are worth mentioning Dul Dul (born the the Czech Republic in 1996), grand-son of Lakmus, undergoing an intensive training with Mrs. Libuse Pulpanova (he sold 12/2008) , the Czech Republic dressage champion. Djigita, a mare of unique colouring, being the very first descendant of Akhal-Teke horses after their import to the Czech Republic, and further mares and their foals.

To avoid degeneration by close family-line breeding, the Akhal-Teke breed is usually being refreshed by the blood of English pure-blood and Trakenian horse, both excellent for sports (e.g. the dressage stallion Etalon). To this category belong the following horses of our breed:
KADARA and her offspring KALLI (she sold 12/2008) and SAGEM (sold).

Recently, our farm is undergoing a vast renovation and modernization of the stables with the prospect of accommodating as many as 60 horses designated for breeding as well as sports and relaxation purposes.

In November 2006, our Association has become a regular member of MAAK (the organization associating the world-wide breeders of Akhal-Teke horses).

Stabling...why do we keep the horses so long in the stables? We do it all the centuries long because it is comfortable, they are always to our disposal, clean and ready. We should use the stables only sometimes and they should not be considered as a horses´ home. The horses being kept for too long in stables appear to have often bad habits, they destroy the equipment, walk monotonously in boxes, etc. This brings stress or depression for the horse. This creatures loving freedom will never lose their natural needs. Unfortunately it is difficult to correct the once learned bad habits.
