Every two years meet the breeders, riders, experts and veterinarians on the international horse fair Eurocheval in Offenburg, Germany. The first exhibition took place in Baden-Württenberg in 1976 with 100 exhibitors, especially from Germany. The Baden-Württenberg area is well known for the horse breeding all over the world. There is approximately 15 000 rider- and breed centres being visited by more than 100 000 riders and horse breeders. The reputation of the well organized exhibition went across the German border and in the meantime the number of exhibitors rose so high that Eurocheval became the largest horse exhibition in Europe. This year, meaning 2008, were broken records both in attendance and also in number of exhibitors. More than 50 000 horse admirers from all over the world visited the fair this year and the exhibitors came from 17 different countries (Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Netherland, Poland, USA, Portugal, Sweden, Belgium, Slovakia and Czech Republic), in total 433 exhibitors out of which 327 from Germany and 106 from other countries. Five countries presented the National and Land Stud Farms. From Germany there were Land Stud Farms Schwaiganger (Bavaria), Neustat-Dosse (Brandenburg), Marbach (Baden-Württenberg) and Moritzburg (Saxony); Switzerland was represented by National Stud Farm Avenches, France by National Stud Farms Blois, Strasbourg, Cedex, Hennebont and Arnac Pompadour, and Slovakia
by National Stud Farm Topolcianky. The Czech Republic represented association
Dalida Akhal – Teke Czech.

We arrived to Offenburg, a pleasant town in the valley of Rhine between German Black Forrest and French Vosges, after a tiring journey which took to the car with the horses over 12 hours,
on Thursday around 3:00 am. It was necessary to take care about the horses but also to prepare our stand for the morning´s exhibition opening. We went to bed at 6:00 am just to get up at 7:00 am and to go to the action.

The first day we participated in the Breed show, a programme presenting different horse breeds, afterward in the Sale show where we offered for sale Dul Dul and El Mag and later in the afternoon also in the Top show presenting the best of the whole day. In the Top show joined both stallions also Agarjanka with Michal in an original costume of Persian prince. All our shows accompanied traditionally Dalida with her song Salma Ya Salama and all horses had original golden and silver jewellery. In addition, we had to be present at our stand and give all information to the curious visitors about our horses, our association and about the history of akhal – teke breed which seemed to be known only a little in Germany. The day was hard but it did not hinder us to visit in the evening the very popular Western City saloon with our friends Bob and Renata Bartos where we danced in the rhythm of country music.

The Friday repeated more less the scenario of the precedent day but the number of visitors increased significantly. The riders and horses found more harmony and confidence and the quality of our shows rose up rapidly. On the stand visited us the most important German, Swiss and French akhal-teke breeders and we spoke about the future of the akhal-teke breed in Europe.
It was nice to speak also with people who have only one or few akhal-teke horses in their stables at home and to exchange all our experience with them.

On Saturday the attendance of the exhibition reached its peak and in fact it was impossible to leave the stand because we had to answer plenty of questions from many visitors obviously fascinated by the beauty of our horses. Each time we brought our horses out of their boxes, the crowd became un-penetrable and the photo shooting and filming was endless. During repeated shows on the main arena of the exhibition our horses became superstars. After the evening´s Gala-show followed a big open air party. Around midnight came a mysterious invitation
to a private party being held in the hall 1B where awaited us an essential meeting with German Arabian horse breeders and all people who mean something in the German horse world.
As a result was our agreement on common shows on the next exhibitions and especially an arrangement with the German top trainer Corinna Lehmann and her team that she will present Dul Dul on the European Akhal – Teke Championship which will be held in Ising on September 26-28, 2008. On this Championship will Dalida present her best collection.

Corinna tried Dul Dul right away on Sunday and it was a first sight love. The harmony which they showed by working together was so wonderful that many of us had tears in our eyes. We expected Sunday to be a more calm day and that we could leave earlier. The flows of visitors proved to be the contrary and we had to be at our best also the very last day of the exhibition.
It paid off, except of El Mag who was shown only on hand in the afternoon due to his tiredness, both Dul Dul and Agarjanka performed perhaps the best of all days. At the end we registered us for the next Eurocheval in 2010 and after a long leave taking with all our new friends and full of impressions and experience we headed back toward Prague and Kvastov.
